Father Daughter Dance at Gateway

Last Thursday was the Father Daughter Dance at our new church, Gateway. It was much different from the other dances we've been to because this one was for girls 8-18, instead of for girls 3-10, or k-4th grade. It was fun to see the teenagers dressed up in their formal dresses.
The dance was at the Lancaster Theater in Downtown Grapevine. We had chicken and fetuccini alfredo, and some chocolate dessert with coconut in it. I didn't think I liked coconut, but these were pretty good anyway. I won't mention the vegetables they served, because we all know I didn't eat them. They sat us at tables by age group, so I was at a table with other 10 year old girls, and they separated some of the dancing by age group too. Daddy was upset because he didn't get to dance to Miley Cyrus, but he sang it very loudly at the table anyway!
While Mommy was getting me ready, painting my nails and doing my hair she said, "Can you imagine when we'll be getting you ready for a date with a boy?" I shook my head and stuck out my tongue, boys are still yucky to me. That made her smile. On the way home from the dance I was thinking about not being able to rub my eyes because of my makeup, and how I couldn't lean back against the seat because of my hair. I told my dad I wasn't sure about all this growing up stuff, like dressing up, wearing makeup, boys, and wearing a bra all the time. He giggled with me, but later when I looked over he was a crying a little bit. Guess he's not ready for me to grow up either. After we got home we all hung out in my room for awhile. The five of us just giggled and talked about the night. Mom was playing around with Aunt Kristi's camera while I took down my hair, and took off my jewelry.
It was a really fun night, but my feet sure were tired! It felt good to lay in my bed with daddy and just relax.

Sky Ranch

The trip wasn't so exciting but it was worth it when we got there. On the way to Sky Ranch I sat with my friend Bailey and on the way back I sat with my mom.Bailey and I talked, ate some candy, and played car games. My whole class was mad because we thought they would play movies and didn't.

Our expeditions class was so much fun! We
got to see cool animals sometimes we got to touch them and learned different facts about them then learned about their purpose (niche). One of my favorite animals there was a bearded dragon named Benny. Benny was doing whatever he could to get attention!

We traveled back in time and met the Shakawa tribe and learned how to make corn cakes and fire and how to shoot bow and arrows. They wore three different color paint on their face red, yellow, and blue. And here's what they meant,BLUE-Compassion RED-StrengthYELLOW- wisdom. My favorite part was painting my face and getting my name, Heart Of A Lion.

My mom got to come to camp with me, and I'm so glad she did! It was cool always having her to talk to every time something good or something bad happend. And it was nice having her for money too.So glad she got to come!

We all got to go around a trail on horses! My horses name was Hoss. He was fun and he listened so well it was easy. After that we got to learn about some animals and pet all of them except for Tina the Lama. but I'm glad cause she spit on some of the kids!

We all got to perform skits in front of the school. For our skit Mrs.Worley said that she found two caterpillars in the cabin that could do tricks so we showed the audience some of our tricks. After that Mrs.Worley said the only thing I can't train them to do is potty train them and two people from the caterpillar squirted the audience with water! It was very funny to watch.

On the last night Mrs.Segars and Mrs.Ivie came on our cabin and sprayed all of us! It was fun getting sprayed but it wasn't fun cleaning up.
Rachel and I have become really close friends this past year and we were together at camp about ALL the time, and it was fun being partners.

On the last day it was really cold, wet, very muddy, and just miserable!
Emmy has been my best fiend forever and it was awesome having her at camp!

Riding Buck

I went to my Papa's house on Tuesday and was the first grandchild to ride his horse Buck. I was in horsebackriding before but had to stop because it's very expensive, so it felt good to get back in the saddel and trot a little. And it was nice to see my Papa and Grammyb again.

Skiing Christmas 2008

As I got off the ski lift I could feel my stomach tightening. I heared the sound of the lift as another chair came around. I skied around some kids and found my instructor. I could tell this would be an adventure.
I could hear the sound of people talking as my instructor started to tell us where we were going to ski. I started to ski down the mountain, but stoped myself because I had to wait until it was time to go down with everyone else.
My instructor was telling us to make sure to keep speed controll and to keep our balence when we went down the mountain. Then she told me to move to the front of the line. So I skied up to the front and off we went.
We went all over the place! We went left, and right, and just slid down the m ountain. Then I remembered how much I love skiing!
I can't belive I was nervous about skiing, because it's so much fun! I hope we will get to do this again someday!
